Each of my illustrations hides animals, humans, or objects. The squirrel holds 64 hidden creatures and one Chaz face. I often conceal my face within my drawings. I create them using Rotring Rapidograph pens, as fine as .13mm, on 100-pound acid-free bristol board with a plate finish. Starting with a pencil sketch, I add details, spot shapes of smaller animals, and keep adding until the drawing is complete. It's like piecing together a puzzle. The final step is inking it in. These drawings aim to provide a respite from the fast-paced 24/7 life, encouraging thoughts about nature and its amazing inhabitants.
