This unique Harmonogram was crafted by Ivan Moscovich in his home studio, utilizing a complex double-pendulum drawing device he designed himself. A multifaceted figure, Moscovich patented his Harmonograph in 1967 and refined his innovative 'cybernetic' drawing method over time. The machine generates two-dimensional oscillations, known to mathematicians as Lissajous figures. By varying color, shape, and composition, Moscovich achieved a remarkable visual diversity in his images. The meticulous process demanded extensive experimentation for each concept, leading Moscovich to never create copies. Each signed Moscovich Harmonogram is truly one-of-a-kind, executed in colored marker on art-board, measuring 24 x 24 inches.
