Assembled model - German Tank T-IV E. Historical note: The Polish military campaign exposed the weak protection of German T-IV tanks, easily defeated by light anti-tank artillery. German engineers were tasked with reinforcing T-IV's protection. Frontal and side armor was bolstered with additional armor plates, the commander's turret was strengthened. Increased weight was compensated by wider tracks. Changes included a new driver's observation device and a simplified rear turret shape. T-IV E tanks fought in the Balkans, North Africa, and the Soviet Union.
