The Panzer II C, introduced in 1937, was initially a temporary solution until sufficient numbers of Panzer III and IV tanks could be deployed. Armed with a 2cm main gun, it featured enhanced frontal armor and the signature five-wheel leaf spring suspension. Crewed by three (commander/gunner, wireless operator, driver), it was initially intended for tank-on-tank combat in the Polish campaign but was later used for reconnaissance in the West and Soviet Union, with its frontline use declining by 1942.
