Made in the style of traditional Japanese graters, this shun grater is unique; the grated material is not pressed through the cutting surface, but the teeth remain on the surface of the cutting face-giving you the ability to create fine pastes of garlic and other vegetables by hand. The large, two-sided grating surface and carbon-steel blades provide the ability to grate vegetables fine or very fine. Using a circular motion, the fine side is ideal for making pastes like horseradish or wasabi while the coarse side can be used for vegetables such as carrots and hard cheese.
